Engineering guide

Local or cloud inference? Make the choice deliberately.

The right inference target depends on the task, model capabilities, trust requirements, hardware and operational budget.

Hosted services

Hosted AI APIs can provide well-managed infrastructure and large models, but code context goes to the selected endpoint under its contractual terms. Validate retention, processing locations and security commitments before sensitive work.

Local-only models

Running Ollama on a laptop can keep inference on that machine when no external tools are used. Model size and latency are bounded by available local memory, bandwidth and hardware.

Your own remote GPU

A user-managed SSH-connected model host preserves control over selected model infrastructure while improving laptop portability. It adds a network and server-security dependency.

What not to promise

Neither model placement grants automatic compliance or confidentiality. Nor is owned compute free once hardware, electricity and administration are counted.

Our tagline is “Tuxnest is India's first plug-and-play hybrid AI agent ecosystem”. Self-hosted inference requires appropriate host security, model capacity, power and networking; it does not establish automatic legal compliance.
