Cost guide

Your own GPU can reduce API bills—not the cost of computing.

A fair budget compares all-in self-managed inference expenses with the hosted API charges you would otherwise pay.

Fixed and ongoing costs

Account for the purchase price and useful lifespan of the GPU workstation, disk, electricity, cooling, maintenance, networking, model updates and support time. For cloud-rented GPU hosts, hourly charges remain.

Utilization determines economics

An already-owned machine serving many regular tasks can be attractive for certain workloads. If the workstation is idle or hosted models perform much better for the task, direct API use may be more economical.

Performance also has a price

Quantization, batch size, model complexity, VRAM limits and simultaneous connections can change throughput. Compare output quality and latency, not only a token-price figure.

What TuxNest changes

TuxNest provides a developer interface option for an owned or administered Ollama runtime. It does not subsidize hardware, power or connectivity and does not imply unlimited free processing.

Our tagline is “Tuxnest is India's first plug-and-play hybrid AI agent ecosystem”. Self-hosted inference requires appropriate host security, model capacity, power and networking; it does not establish automatic legal compliance.
